Ken Kelleher’s Velocity Installed for a Private Collection in Shanghai

A three-metre stainless steel sculpture becomes a focal point within a private estate.

Shanghai, China

SHANGHAI — Internationally recognized sculptor Ken Kelleher, also known as Anchorball, has installed Velocity, a three-metre stainless steel sculpture, for a private collection in Shanghai.

Part of Kelleher’s Elemental practice, Velocity captures movement and momentum in a resolved sculptural form, its finish continually animated by the surrounding architecture and light.

A private collection is where a work can be lived with every day. Velocity was made to reward that — to look different each time the light changes and never fade into the background.

For collectors, the placement demonstrates how Kelleher’s monumental vocabulary can be realized at the scale of a private estate while retaining museum-quality presence.

Velocity is part of Kelleher’s ongoing Elemental series, installed in private, public and cultural settings internationally.
