Ken Kelleher’s Back in the Saddle Sets Sail Aboard Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas

A six-metre mirror-finish stainless steel sculpture becomes a signature artwork at sea.

At Sea

AT SEA — Internationally recognized sculptor Ken Kelleher, also known as Anchorball, has completed Back in the Saddle Again, a six-metre mirror-finish stainless steel sculpture created for Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas, installed with the team from Legacy Landmarks.

Part of Kelleher’s Elemental practice, the work brings a monumental, highly reflective sculptural presence into one of the most visited environments in the world, giving passengers a distinctive landmark and meeting point.

Placing a monumental work at sea means it will be seen by millions of people from every corner of the world. That reach is extraordinary — a sculpture becomes part of a memory people carry home.

For brands and developers, the commission demonstrates the ability of Kelleher’s work to create recognizable cultural assets whose reach extends far beyond a single location.

Back in the Saddle underscores the versatility of Kelleher’s Elemental series across civic, hospitality and experiential environments.
